Changing Activation time of Ankle Spring in Reducing Metabolic Energy Exampls

Post by Shubham Goyal » Mon Apr 13, 2020 8:02 am

Hello ,

In the example , Simulation - Based design to reduce Metabolic Cost , can we change the code such that the ankle torsional spring act only for a certain duration , for example if we want it to work for stance phase and activation time for the right foot would be just from 0.6s to 1.4s

A simple strategy would be to run one simulation with the CoordinateLimitForce and another simulation without, and then glue the simulation results together in your analysis. Assuming you are using CMC (as described in Part V of the example), then the two simulations would be tracking the same motion. Another solution would be to use a CoordinateActuator with a controller.
