Hi Allison,
Based on these answers and other examples and toolboxes I saw, it seems that there is no need to arrange the forces, COP and moments into 18 columns for right and left foot. If you have 4 force plates, you can have a MOT file with 37 columns (1+4*9). Then, in the External loads section, assign two force plate for right and two for left foot. This is what this toolbox do:

Thank you for the response, I will look into this toolbox! I received the data as csv from the group that originally collected the data, do you know if this toolbox only works for c3d files, or will csv work too?

Thanks for sending along that second toolbox. It appears that the download page doesn't include a vital function, and that many people have not been able to use it for that reason.
If I have the data in csv format already, I think I can convert the data manually. But in your first message, you mentioned that I can have a MOT file with 37 columns (1+4*9). Would the MOT file have be formatted so that the time column is first, then all 9 columns for plate one, then all 9 for plate 2, etc? It had sample files too.
About the external load file; I attached a sample of 3 force plate. It can be created in ID, RRA, CMC, SO, Analyze and FD tools. Once you create it, you can use it for other tools.
