BodyKinematics Analysis Question

I have a .mot file to specify the motion of my model (right leg with 3 muscles and a patella, the only dof is knee flexion angle, all hip and angle angles/translations set to 0). I have a kinematic knee and patella that translate and rotate depend on knee flexion angle (like BothLegs.osim). Is there any way to get the values of the constrained dof output in a kinematics analysis? I know these are functions but the function isn't clear to me. How does OpenSim create a cubic spline between the points you give it?
