how to create bone and geometry files

Post by Kazutaka Takahashi » Wed Apr 07, 2010 8:23 am

Hi.
We are interested in making opensim models of chewing and tongue dynamics and we already have several scanned images of skeletons and muscle types and geometries. How can we make bone and geometry files from those data? Thank you!

Hi,

If you intend to use the geometry for Contact then you'll need to write it into .obj file format. If you're going to use it just for visualization then you might write ".vtp" (VTK file format) or ".stl" ( one of the CAD systems standard file formats)

Hope this helps,
-Ayman

Thank you for your reply.
I will check to see how upper extremity model and wrist model are using those files. I will be back...
