Interpreting Muscle Analysis Results

Post by Michael Dube » Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:24 am

Hello,

I was just wondering if someone could better specify what exactly the output files include when running the Muscle Analysis through the analyze tool on OpenSim. Specifically, what is FiberPassivePower vs FiberActivePower or PassiveFiberForce vs ActiveFiberForce.

It seems as though all of the passive values are zero, what does this mean?

There are short descriptions in the API documentation here: https://simtk.org/api_docs/opensim/api_ ... lysis.html. The "passive" vs. "active" adjectives refer to the contributions of the passive and active components of the muscle, respectively. Information about the muscle models can be found in the "Muscle Model Theory and Publications" section of the documentation: https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu/d ... blications.
