How to apply external force

Post by Yuya Miyazaki » Wed Oct 27, 2021 9:37 pm

Hello, I'm new to Opensim.

Unit N
0 153.8696714
0.001 154.2095977
0.002 154.7130869
0.003 155.2535554
0.004 155.2820011

This is part of the force you exert when you pedal your bicycle.
How can we apply this data as an external force to the model?

Hi,

First, convert the force data into OpenSim format (STO or MOT files):
https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... sto)+Files
https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... t%29+Files

Then, assign forces to bodies:
https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... ernalLoads

More hands-on tutorial can be found here:
https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... e+Dynamics

Best,
Mohammadreza

Thank you for reply.

Is this possible with a single axis force sensor?

Kind regards.

Hi,

I'm not sure, you can make zeros for other axes.

Best
