Hello,
The left and right flow ratios of the inflow value does not match with the left and right flow ratios of the generated flow in the all_results-flows.txt. For example, if the left has a flow of 45% of the inflow value and the right has a flow of 55% of the inflow value and the generated flow in the all_results-flows.txt flow for the left is 50% and the right has a flow of 50%. How would I resolve this issue in order for the flow ratios to match 45% for the left side and 55% for the right side?
I have checked that all the resistance values in SimVascular match the resistance values that I calculated and that I have the correct units (in MGS) used for SimVascular. Would increasing step constructions help resolve this issue? I am running a steady simulation.
Thank you,
Kelly Cao

Re: Left and Right Flow Ratios
Hi Kelly,
The finite element analysis is of course an approximation so how close a simulation reproduces a flow split depends on several factors. You need to first make sure that the simulation has converged to a steady state solution with a nonlinear residual of around 1e-3. You also need to determine if the size of the mesh you are using is sufficiently fine to capture the flow you are simulating.
Cheers,
Dave
