Inverse Dynamics External Loads

Post by Travis Peterson » Mon Jun 21, 2010 1:28 pm

Hello, I'm wondering what the default loading is for the Inverse Dynamics tool. In RRA and CMC, you are allowed to pick the body upon which your external load file acts upon, however in Inverse Dynamics I cannot seem to find anything in the GUI or the Setup file. Is there any default place or how could I define this position?

Travis,

InverseDynamics (as of version 2.0.2) does not take into account any forces other than External Loads (Prescribed Forces), and it solves for the equivalent set of Joint torques that reproduce the input trajectory. The specification of the external loads is embedded in one xml file that specifies the forces applied and the bodies they are applied to. The GUI provides a dialog to populate this XML file.

Hope this helps,
