manual scaling tool

Post by Nastaran Taefi Aghdam » Sun Sep 04, 2022 11:25 am

Hi everyone,

Regarding the scaling tool, if I want to use the manual measurement:

Is there any possible way to enter the distance of each pair of markings, and then the software itself calculates the scale factor?

Best regards,
Nastaran

Hello, have you solved your problem? I also want to calculate the scale factor manually, but don't know how to do it? I tried to use the distance between the two markers as the length of the segment, but there was a problem with whether my markers had to be the same as the subjects. But I can't make sure the accuracy of the XML file, it is likely to be a large error. What should I do?

Dear jing liu,
I used the same method that you mentioned. I put all markers in the ground frame to be able to calculate distances as body segments length. I think the accuracy will be aright if markers be placed on the functional joints, and in the same way we measure the subject's body segments length.
Kind regards
Nastaran.

Dear Nastaran,
Do you define your own marker set, or do you use an existing one? If you use the 2354 model, do you use the 2354 model marker set on the official website, or a set of your own laboratory? If it is defined by yourself, how to ensure the accuracy of placement on the 2354 model when creating .XML file? Because this is going to directly affect the scale factor that we calculate.
There is also the question of whether setting the properties of the marked points in the segment or global coordinate system has any effect on the result, I am not very clear about these two concepts.
