Hi Dave,

I had MPI installed but updated from version 7 to 10. This did not solve the problem.

When running the simulation I still get Exit code -3.

mbilog reads the following:

Hi Jason,

The svSolver Windows executable seems to have had some sort of issue, not sure what was going on. I've updated the SimTK installer with a new 2022-08-19 version. Download that and give it a try.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,

I just installed the new version and it seems to be working now. I normally stopped in the first minute or so but has been going for 30 minutes now.

If you do not hear back from me then the problem is solved!

Thanks so much for your help. Feels great that I can start simulating now.

Hi Jason,

I'm glad things are finally working! Thanks for pointing out this problem, somehow I missed this when building and testing, important to fix this.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Im currently experiencing the same issue with simvascular. Ive downloaded the latest version for windows just now 2/05/2023. I can't seem to be able to run simulations on any demo project, keep getting the "Failed to finish creating files". I also have downloaded the latest svsolver. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Hi Arian,

This could be a permission problem or maybe your project directory name has spaces in it.

Are any simulation files created?

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,

the project i downloaded is 0095_0001 model from repository database. It comes with simulation files but I re-meshed the model myself and I get this code in cmd (please see attached file). it doesn't create any simulation files.

Update: i have also tried this on windows and Mac. In both scenarios, It fails to generate files and exits with simulation exit code: 1. I have installed the latest svSolver and also removed the directory under user>appdata>local>SimVascular, but it doesn't seem to solve the issue.

Hi Adrian,

I just downloaded 0095_0001 and ran a simulation on Windows no problem.

Make sure the paths to the svSolver binaries are set correctly in the SV Preferences panel. You also need to have Intel Fortran and MSI MPI installed.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm having the same issue with simvascular. When running the simulation, the error I receive is "Failed to finish creating data files" with no details provided.

I'm using:
SimVascular 2023.03.27
SvSolver 2022.08.19
Windows10-64 bit
Intel Fortran Compiler and MS MPI installed.
