Creation of Virtual Markers

Post by Nate Bates » Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:31 am

I want to create virtual markers within my model. The locations of these markers would be calculated in reference to the positions of actual markers loaded from my motion data. I then want to use these virtual markers as reference points during scaling. Is it possible to create such markers within OpenSim? How would I go about this?

Thanks,
Nate

Hello Nate,

If you want to use virtual markers for scaling, the infomation of the virtual marker potision is needed to be both in the model and static pose file.

You can add markers on your model by marker editor while seeing the position of reference markers. And you can also add the virtual marker in your static pose file manually. Then you can scale the model using a virtual marker as a reference point.

I hope this would help,
Yusuke

Unfortunate. I was afraid that was going to be the response. Thanks for the advice.
