OpenSim 4.3/4.5 Open model dialog error

Post by s beveridge » Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:09 pm

Hi there,

I have just downloaded and installed OpenSim 4.5. However, when I try to open a model from the File menu the "OpenSim model" dialog box is completely unresponsive. I cannot even browse for a file. When I attempt to navigate to a folder I receive the little red warning circle at the bottom right of the message tab. The error I receive is an "Unexpected Exception" (please see attached image and full text). This seems to be specific to my production machine because when I install 4.5 on an old laptop it works like a charm.

I have tried the following:

1. Providing full permission to all openSim directories
2. Installing in different locations on my machine
3. Assigning access to each of the graphics cards on my machine
3. Rolling back to version 4.3

Unfortunately none of these attempts has solved my problem. I have a gut feeling that it's a Java problem :o but I cannot be sure.

My machine specs are as follows:

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12800H 2.40 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
OS Windows 11
OS build 22631.3296

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Scott
