Add Exoskeleton segment

Post by Hoon Kim » Mon Mar 18, 2024 7:46 pm

Hello OpenSim friends, :)

I am Hoon Kim.

I have a challenge for the use of OpenSim.
I am planning a research where we will evaluate upper body exoskeleton in terms of muscle activation and muscle forces.

For this study, I think that we need some steps:

1. Adding the exoskeleton segment with inertia property and joint definition
2. Applying the motor (actuator) of the exoskeleton (i.e., like muscle actuation in OpenSim)

For these things, if I have an example model where I can find exoskeleton segment within the model (even lower body exoskeleton), it would be very helpful for me to explore the model file for combining OpenSim model and upper exoskeleton.

Thank you very much for any comments and example files.

Sincerely,

Hoon

Hi Kim,

I am doing the same thing and I have the same issues. I have posted in this forum earlier regarding this but got no response from anyone.
But I have found the following documents, please follow them and check whether it works for you. If works, please let me know I am still working on it ;)
