Actuators RRA

Post by Jens van der Wees » Tue May 21, 2024 2:12 am

I need to perform RRA on some experimental data. For this I also need to look at how high my actuators are, because they artificially contribute a muscle force, which can lead to inaccurate muscle force data. How do I know when my actuators are too high?

One might define an unacceptably large amount of error as being an amount of error that would affect the answer to the research question. This likely depends on the quality of the data, the model and calibration process, what movement you're investigating, etc. Some "best practices" can be found on the "Getting Started with RRA" page in the documentation (https://opensimconfluence.atlassian.net ... leshooting) and in Hicks et al. "Is my model good enough? Best practices for verification and validation of musculoskeletal models and simulations of movement" (https://nmbl.stanford.edu/publications/ ... ks2015.pdf).
