Dear developer:
I was trying 'import/export solid models'. I exported a model from a project and got two files '01model.stl' and '01model.stl.facenames'. Then I created a new project and imported the '01model.stl' file, it said 'No face info found. Would you like to extract faces for the model?'. I chose 'Yes', and use the default separation angle (50). However, some faces were missing. The outlet of aorta joined the wall. What should I do?
Thank you very much. -v-

Re: import solid model
Hello Dai,
Face information is only retained when a model is exported to the VTK .vtp format. Even though exporting to .stl format writes out a .facenames file this file is not read when importing the .stl back in to SV.
This is confusing and is not documented. I will open an Issue on it.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,
The VTK .vtp format supported by Simvascular is really powerful. Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Dai
