scaling and IK maximal error to large?

Post by Loes Marks » Wed Feb 03, 2021 4:29 am

Hi there,

I have been working on scaling my model and I came so far that the maximal error after Inverse Kinematics is in general under or around 2cm.
But the marker on the left femur head gives an error of 3-4cm with only a few steps, when the left leg is in retroflexion.

I have checked the position of the markers with the video of the subject during the measurement, I have scaled the model with the weighting of the markers and the scale factors to create the right length for the segments.

I have followed the steps in the webinar "Tips and Tricks for Data Collection, Scaling and Inverse Kinematics in OpenSim"

Is there something that I did wrong or is 3 to 4 cm is one phase an acceptable error?
I wanted to attach the trc file but that's not possible, but my model is attached.

Thank you!
