COM potential energy

Post by Nikita Kuznetsov » Fri Aug 20, 2021 10:47 am

Another newbie question: I tried outputting COM's potential and kinetic energy in the gait10dof18musc model using the analyzer tool for the IK solution provided with OpenSim's download. The mass of the scaled model is m=72.6 kg, g = 9.81 m/s^2, and the average height of the COM is 1.06 m, so the expected potential energy should be 754.84 J, but the output from the Analyze tool shows mean values around 3500 J. Why is this value so high? Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
