Gait Normalization in OpenSim

Post by Ryan Davis » Tue Dec 22, 2009 9:31 am

I am trying to normalize several different subjects by percentage of the gait cycle using the information provided from OpenSim. Is there anything within OpenSim that can do this? Or does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately, OpenSim does not have this capability built in. But you should be able to normalize you gait data, either between 0 & 1 or 0 & 100, using Excel or Matlab. You can look at the motion files from Tutorial #1 as examples.

Hope that helps,
Sam
