Simtk core installation problem

Hi,

I attempted to install the SimTK core (from file SimTKcore_VC9.exe obtained from Simtkcore webpage) on two different windows machines in my lab and it did not work out. The two executables, AuxInstallCheck.exe and CoreInstallCheck.exe both terminate with the same error message "The application failed to initialize properly".

Any suggestions on what could be wrong ? The OS is Windows XP on both the machines.

Is Visual Studio installed on these machines and if it is, which version?

Both the machines have Visual C++ 2008 Express edition, V 9.0 installed on them.

Hi Kishor,

We think the problem is an incompatibility with the Visual Studio Express runtime on your machines and the Visual Studio Professional we used to build SimTK. We are working on a Visual Studio Express version of SimTK and should have it ready by early next week. Would you be willing to help us test it?

We will build both debug and release versions.
