Multi-Coordinate Coupler Option?

Post by Laurence Fok » Wed May 25, 2011 9:51 pm

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was an option to couple more than one dependent coordinate using the CoordinateCouplerConstraint.

To give some context, I am trying to couple the flexion-extension of the lumbar spine to the flexion-extension, lateral bending and axial rotation of individual lumbar vertebrae.

Thanks
Laurence

Hi Laurence,

It is possible to set a CooridnateCouplerConstraint with multiple independent coordinates, however, it's not easy to serialize/deserialize such functions. At the API level you can create and set up these constraints programmatically either in a main program or using the plugin mechanism explained in the Developer's Guide.

Please consult the guide (available on the download page of OpenSim) and let us know if you have any questions.

Good luck,
-Ayman
