Setting step-size in forward dynamic simulations

Post by Sarah Wohlman » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:02 am

I have been trying to run 1 second forward dynamic simulations. With the default step-size settings (0.00000001), the simulation stops and the output file only indicates the simulation got to 0.05 seconds. This file is 666,000 KB. I've tried this a few times and it seems that all the simulations end at this point. I tried increasing the minimum step-size to be more than the default. Even going up to 0.1, the step-size is still the same as previous simulations that end at 0.05 seconds. Should I be able to increase the step-size so that more of simulation finishes before it reaches the file size stop? Are there any suggestions for changing the simulation parameters so that I am able to run the entire 1 second?

Thanks,
Sarah
