Abstract submission deadline - possible extension?

Post by Ilse Jonkers » Sat Dec 29, 2012 6:51 am

Dear Team,

We were wondering if an extension of the January 11th deadline will be considered?

Kind Regards,

Ilse

Hi Ilse,

We have no control over the abstract submission deadline for the conference. However, we did say in the competition announcement this year that competitors have until February 4th to submit their predictions to Allison (allisonlhall@ufl.edu).

So I would encourage you to submit an abstract by January 11th that describes what you have done and include some preliminary results in the abstract. Then submit your blinded predictions to Allison by February 4th, and we will evaluate both the abstract and the blinded predictions when doing the reviews of the competition submissions. We'll release the actual measurements to competitors shortly after February 4th so that they can work on unblinded predictions to be presented at the conference as well.

I hope that info gives you a little more breathing room :-).

B.J.

According to ASME, deadline seems to be extended to January 14, 2013.

Could someone confirm this, just to be completely sure?
