Moment Arm of quadriceps muscle

Post by Gerus Pauline » Wed Mar 20, 2013 9:15 pm

Hi All.

I have a question about the estimation of moment-arm into OpenSim. I created two rectus femoris muscle, one is attached to the patella and the other is attached to the tibia. The motion of each muscle is almost the same. The muscle-tendon length according to the knee flexion angle is quasi-similar. However, when I estimate the muscle moment-arm, I have a huge difference.

Does anyone have an explanation ?

Please find attached the Osim file containing the two rectfem muscles and the resulting moment-arm and muscle-tendon length for both muscles.

Thanks

Pauline
