Only one force plate

Post by Sami Khan » Mon Nov 03, 2014 8:33 am

Hello,

i want to get the calculated forces and torques of a model. But i only have one force plate. Is it somehow possible to do this.
The Forces and torques of one leg only would also be okay. Are there any models for this?

thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Hello,

Do you want to calculate forces and torques for a walking model? For one walking step you need the GRF data from the opposite leg as well as both information add together the overall force applied to the ground. Therefore, I'm not sure if this is possible. You can assume left and right leg to be symmetrically. However, I have never done this before and I doubt if one force plate would be enough.

Best,
Ursula
