Setup of simulation files

Post by Chris Gatti » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:38 am

I have gone through the tutorial 'Generating a Muscle-Actuated Simulation in OpenSim' and have some questions. Although the steps are easy to follow, the descriptions of each of the files are meager and it is hard to determine what information must be in each of the files for implementing our own data, and what effect the settings/information has on the model. Is there anything coming in terms of documentation concerning this, for the application of applying motion capture data as well as 'driving' specified motions (not from motion capture data)? Thanks.

Chris

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your post.

We will be releasing documentation (although still in draft form) in the next week or two that will describe the setup files involved in generating simulations. In particular, the documentation will cover the scale, ik, rra, cmc, and forward tools.

The documentation will be released in conjunction with Release 1.1 of OpenSim, which will contain a number of important bug fixes.

Best regards,
Clay Anderson
