Hello,
As per the request of Ayman Habib I am submitting a report regarding a reporting issue while running CMC.(https://simtk.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9873#p9873)
After starting the CMC tool only the initial states are computed, and then the tool fails (without an error message other than "Tool execution failed or cancelled by user, output files were not written.")
From this, 3 files are written:
1. an incomplete states file (UE_Simplified_states.sto)
2. desiredKinematics_padded.sto
3. desiredKinematics_splinefit_accelerations.sto
I have gone through the suggestions in the CMC guide, but it remains unsuccessful: http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:80 ... +Practices
(some of these were however helpful in running the SO)
Specification:
Program Version- OpenSim Version 3.1
Model- A simplified, and modified Upper Extremity model
Muscle Model- Thelen2003Muscle

Other attempts:
When running CMC with the proper Upper Extremity model the same problem persists. This also occurs for RRA, and Forward Dynamics. Other muscle models have been tried as well: Schutte1993Muscle_Deprecated, Schutte1993Muscle_Deprecated, and Millard2012Muscle (however these may still be worth looking into). I have also tried to change the motion to a static posture without any external load, which created the same result.
