Animation issue

Detailed description
Whenever I try to animate (press play) on a motion, my model won't move (including models and motions from the tutorials). It does move if I click or scroll somewhere in the window, but as a stop-motion type animation as opposed to a continuous animation. I find this issue constantly but for an example sake I'm just trying to animate a synced crouch vs normal gait from the tutorial
