Adding directionality to the objective function terms.
1. Ligament covariance: Add a reference length for each bundle. At each flexion angle, if the length of the bundle is greater than the reference length, it will be accounted for calculation of covariance. Otherwise, the effect of that bundle at that flexion angle will be zero.
This method will probably be very beneficial when estimating the motion of a pathological knee.
2. Contact penetration/separation term: Modified the script so that it does not allow for any penetration, but separation can happen.
3. AP translation of contact center: Project the footprint of the meniscus on the tibial cartilages. If a contact center location is on the meniscus surface, try to minimize the distance of the contact center with the border of meniscus footprint. |
