- Prepare an outline for geometry and mesh differences among groups.
- All
- Send Ahmet material for progress report (products, effort levels, budgets including projections).
- Keep on working on Model Calibration.
Notes:
- Leads of manuscript efforts summarized their progress.
- Carl sent Ahmet a copy of the ORS workshop manuscript in its current state. He hopes to complete it by next week.
- Jason still needs to fill in the manuscript on review of knee models. Ahmet recommended finishing it up with a superficial look, expanding on the IMAG/MSM abstract. Jason may recruit some of the participants to go over the data. Ahmet also mentioned that these systematic reviews can serve as data for natural language processing and formalization. Carl noted a similar article in the cardiovascular domain. He will send the link to Jason.
- Auckland group reached out to JBME and they were encouraged to submit model development manuscripts as separate publications. The broad model development strategy manuscript will be filled in. They already received feedback on the outline of the paper. They will also outline the manuscript on comparisons of meshes.
- Ahmet reminded all the teams that by the end of June, he will be expecting all model calibration phase outcomes (protocol deviations, models, simulation results including for all conditions of the calibration data sets).
- CSU had protocol deviations and some licensing issues. Nonetheless, they expect to deliver the packages on time.
- Don noted that June deadline is realistic for the Denver group. Calibration is still half done.
- HSS noted that end of June with a two week window on the plus side is a possibility. Shady had some progress but there were some uncertainties. As they analyze data for calibration, they may have some questions.
- ABI noted that their delivery will depend on the computational time required for calibration.
- Cleveland Clinic is half way through, they are prepared to deliver by the end of June.
- Ahmet informed the teams about his intentions on when to put Model Benchmarking phase details on the wiki. In order not to overlap with Model Calibration phase, he is planning to provide wiki page for information in about June.
- Ahmet needs to submit progress report by May 15. He asked all the teams to provide (1) all products, abstracts, publications that acknowledge the grant, (2) personnel that worked on the grant in the past year including their effort level, and (3) current year budget details including current expenditures and projections till the end of current budget period and for the next year.
- Carl spoke with Suzanne Maher, who has been part of the meniscus section at ORS. the section has cross talks with animal studies section. The teams were exploring the possibility of the future of RIG and its positioning within the ORS. ORS sections seem to provide a formal structure. They have membership fees and governance. In return, they provide dedicated space during the meeting and support from the ORS. Ahmet noted that membership fees may be prohibitive and he prefers those who will work rather than simply pay, i.e. sweat equity. Pete also wondered if sections are put against each other in terms of scheduling. Carl noted that this was probably part of the logistical constraints. The participants seemed agree that having an RIG in the evening may be more inclusive. There may not be an added value to form a section. Ahmet also gave the example of CAMS Knee and indicated the possibility to have a workshop to wrap up the project, i.e. what we learned, with relevant participants from industry and clinic.
- Kevin pointed out to an administrative supplement. Ahmet noted that this is likely for projects that already have a software development component. He also mentioned a roadmap for a renewal application and asked for ideas.
