Notes:
- Ahmet noted the likelihood of pushing the deadline for submission of Model Calibration outcomes. He asked for a status update from each group. CSU is running behind; they have results but they are not ideal. Don from Denver group ran into issues with oks003. They are shooting for end of June but they note that it will be rushed. They prefer to have time to build the documentation. The team at Hospital for Special Surgery is in the same boat; they want to make sure models run efficiently than run calibration. They are in the middle of these activities. Nynke from Auckland group noted that they have been working on getting the models run quicker. Ahmet noted that Cleveland Clinic team faced convergence difficulties with DU02 and they will like to spend some time on figuring things out. Overall, all the teams appreciate extension of the timeline. July may be too early. End of August seems good. Ahmet also noted that he expects all testing scenarios to be simulated, even if they are not used for calibration. Per Don's question, he clarified that these loading scenarios should be interpreted by the analyst, i.e., simulation the same laxity scenario as in the experiment.
- Ahmet emphasized that extension of the Model Calibration timeline will likely give some room to wrap up publications. While individual team members focus on modeling and simulation, team leads can finalize manuscript drafts.
- Thor's group submitted a full draft of Model Development manuscript to co-authors. Ahmet asked all to review and provide feedback before end of June. Following a group discussion, Ahmet will follow up to obtain DOIs for raw data of this manuscript (specifications, protocol deviations, and outcomes). Shady was wondering if we should follow up our previous intention to combine specifications and protocol deviations in one document. Ahmet is in favor of providing the documents as is, since they represent raw data and combining them may introduce errors. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that we may do this in future to increase the usability of this information.
- Ahmet also asked Jason and Carl to finalize drafts of their respective manuscripts (on review of knee studies and on reproducibility) with a target submission for August 2020. Submission and subsequent publication of these manuscripts will be instrumental for preparation of a renewal grant application.
- For Model Benchmarking phase planning, Ahmet will wait until the delivery of Model Calibration outcomes and planned manuscript submissions.
- A few team members will be presenting in the upcoming SB3C. IMAG/MSM meeting had a virtual meeting for young investigators. The full meeting has been postponed to October 2020.
