Notes:
- Ahmet asked about the progress on Model Benchmarking. CSU/WSU is on track for delivery of phase outcomes next week (both recalibration/benchmarking). Denver group is also on track to meet the July 1 deadline. Auckland group should be on track. HSS work is delayed, Shady is on traveling and will be transitioning. They will probably need the month of July to wrap up. CC group is lagging behind. Optimizations are running slow and they are troubleshooting reproduction of some calibration steps. Ahmet received all the specifications documents. He needs to upload them to SimTK.
- Ahmet noted that for groups that complete Model Benchmarking can return back to other activities. For example, DU team can focus on the Model Calibration and data consolidation manuscripts. He also noted that following submission of Model Benchmarking outcomes, teams can asynchronously work on the Model Reuse phase.
Jason edited the knee models reproducibility paper; he is ready for submission to JOR. He has been working with Carl, also revived and thinking of submitting the credibility workshop manuscript synergistically. Ahmet noted that the webinar series leading towards ORS 2022, led by Jeff Bischoff and focusing on ASME V&V40. This activity aligns with our previous activities at ORS. First webinar will be soon. Pete have sent the announcement to the group. Carl noted article type options for JOR (review vs scientific). Our is kind of a review but more a science of science study.
- Ahmet also talked about an opportunity to contribute to a book chapter, an initiative by Jeff Bischoff. The timeline is end of year. The group did not resonate with the idea but will be happy to pitch in to support reviews.
- Submission deadline for a renewal grant is November 5. None of the participants dived deeper into ideas mentioned in a Google Doc document. We need to start meeting frequently (biweekly) to gain traction. Ahmet mentioned that he has been talking to Jason about multi-PI arrangements and if any of the groups want to take an increasing leadership role. This will be a useful strategy not only to distribute the administrative burden but also demonstrate community driven succession. Jason will start organizing grant development meetings, planning to start next week. Thor also mentioned the possibility of aligning with funding opportunities in New Zealand.
- Ahmet informed the groups that the project received no cost extension.
