Immediate Action Items:

Notes:

  1. Ahmet informed the group about grant score and percentile, which placed the application in an unfundable range. After receiving the summary statement, the team can strategize for a resubmision. Ahmet asked them to be prepared for a possible resubmission in July, or the latest November 2022. Ahmet also noted that another no cost extension is a possibility to allow teams to wrap up work.
  2. Ahmet provided an overview of Model Reuse phase. He described the simulation cases: passive flexion, pivot shift, and standing x-ray with flexed knee. He emphasized that the recalibrated and bencmarked models should be used. In regard to coordinate system, he expects all teams utilize the experiment coordinate systems. As all models should have been already registered to this coordinate system as part of calibration and bencmarking, this will minimize deviations. Specifications are expected by the end of March 2022 and outcomes by the end of June 2022. Teams that are already behind should focus on finalizing recalibration and benchmarking.
  3. Snehal has been working on uploading Model Recalibration and Benchmarking outcomes packages. Spreadsheet has been populated per Denver group's request. They will take a deeper look into it to shape the Model Calibration manuscript. They anticipate to have questions as they dive deeper. Shady will send data in the upcoming week.
  4. Jason did not hear from JOR manuscript on knee modeling reproducibility assessment. The manuscript has been in review for 7 weeks already; he will check-in soon.
  5. Carl sent the ORS workshop manuscript to co-authors and has already got feedback from all except Andy. Once he get's feedback from all co-authors, he will send the group to review and comment.
  6. The group also discussed incorporation of accreditation, course development, or internship experiences as part of the renewal or as future directions.
  7. Participants of ORS 2022 shared their experiences. Implant Section had a pre-ORS session on credibility in M&S, which Ahmet was involved with. This had an audience of ~100 people. The theme also resonates with KNEEEHUB activities. Carl summarized the Research Interest Group by Hannah Dailey, which built upon our initiatives during the past years. There were ~80 people. A survey was collected in regard to integration of computational modeling into research platform. These initiatives may seed a special issue in JOR compiling the topics.
