Immediate Action Items:

• Jason

  • Explore alternatives to Tekscan, Inc. for pressure measurements.
  • Go through trial imaging data, load different protocols in imaging software and check if coordinate systems were aligned.
  • Explore ways to extract coordinate system from DICOM.

• Ahmet

  • Review data structure document.
  • Organize the joint testing specification page and remove comments.
  • Raise Simtk.org task display issue in Cleveland Clinic - Stanford University meeting.

• Snehal

  • Provide Tara background on tissue testing procedures.
  • Schedule the next imaging trial session based on delivery of transportation fixture.
  • Start filling in image parameters in OAI style.
  • Request addition of Biomomentum, Inc. to Cleveland Clinic vendors list.

• Tara

  • Start adding procedures to tissue testing specifications page.

  • Organize imaging specifications page.
  • Provide images for retrieval and administration interfaces cloud computing prototype.

  • Conduct hands-on trial on the effect of curing of bone cement with alternative marker materials

Notes:

1. Discuss tasks progress.
   • Immediate action items from the previous meeting were discussed.
     • Snehal confirmed the ordering of one specimen. The specimen has no visible signs of OA per Dr. Morgan and Dr. Andrish.
     • Jason tried contacting Tekscan, Inc. but has not received any replies yet.
     • Craig and Snehal contacted prototype lab for specimen transportation device design. Tony suggested using acrylic tubes available in exact size that will fit in the MRI knee coil.
   • Specifications for specimen preparation and registration.
     • All the team members will review the documents and make necessary edits.
   • Joint testing specifications.
     • Ahmet will review the document and make necessary edits.
   • Imaging specifications.
     • Snehal will add protocol specifications for 3D DESS and MESE.
     • Craig will review and edit the specifications and organize the page.
2. Discuss preparations for Martin Garon's visit and quotes for potential machine configurations.
   • Snehal will prepare all test samples and keep all fixtures ready.
   • Robb will prepare desired machine configurations to discuss with Martin.
3. Discuss specimen transportation device design and imaging requirements.
   • Craig and Snehal discussed design options with the prototype lab and were advised to use acrylic tube instead of PVC pipes.
   • Snehal ordered acrylic tube and end plates.
   • Components will be prepared by the prototype lab this week.
   • Once the device components are ready, Snehal will contact Chris and Shannon at the University Hospitals to schedule another imaging session.
   • 3D DESS and MESE protocols will be tested.

   • Ahmet prepared an image segmentation specifications page. The page is organized in a similar fashion as other specifications pages with target outcome, prerequisites and protocols. Procedures will include general purpose protocols, alternatives to reach the same output, and procedures optimized for specific tissues.
