Immediate Action Items:

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
    • Robb will add readme files in Midas for previously acquired mechanical testing data. The readme files will describe the file types and data in the files.
    • Tara plotted the tibiofemoral joint mechanical testing data to evaluate the data quality. AP laxity data showed unexpected translations, i.e., translations towards the opposite direction of the applied force. This may be a coordinate system related issue.
    • Robb will work on pressure sensor recalibration. He will also update the pressure sensor specifications.
    • Craig will rename MRI data for oks004 based on protocols and upload to Midas.
    • Snehal will upload the DICOM renaming Matlab script to the utilities folder in source code repository. She needs to make sure license of the original code is appropriate for dissemination.
  2. Discuss data acquisition progress for oks004.
    • Snehal has been working on acquiring tissue testing data for oks004. All the necessary protocols are programmed in the system. Twenty-one tests were complete. Compression tests went without any issues. Tensile testing initially worked except jumps were still noticed in displacement data. The software crashed several times in the last tension tests. Snehal contacted Martin Garon from Biomomentum Inc. regarding these Mach-1 issues. Martin speculated that video capture might be causing all the errors. Snehal will perform trial tests with and without video capture to evaluate this speculation. Martin also suggested using RAW video files instead of BMP to save space.
    • Snehal will look for articles to make sure Poisson's ratio calculation can be done using Young's and aggregate moduli and in return, video data is not required for compression tests.
    • It was also decided that ramp and hold cycles will be separated in the testing protocols to have a better control over data (mainly video) acquisition frequency. Force/displacement and video data synchronization also needs to be confirmed for Mach-1.
    • One challenge in tissue testing is preparing flat cartilage samples for tensile testing. The curvature of the tissue does not always allow an easy sample preparation.
  3. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
    • Action items were assigned to and agreed upon by the team. See Immediate Action Items above.
  4. Other.
    • None noted.
