  * TBD   * Ahmet sent Robb and Craig anatomical landmarks on the knee mesh used to generate the model coordinate system. He needs to provide the information to Tara as well for generation of new pivot shift trajectories (see notes on the next agenda item). Consequently, Tara was not able to work on simplified pivot shift trajectory to apply to the model.
  * Craig uploaded the samples from magnetic resonance images acquired for oks007. The data seem to be in order.
  * Ahmet, Craig, and Snehal still need to meet to discuss convergence of Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model. Ahmet noted that it may be a good idea to identify simulation parameters such as tolerances and modifications in the model such as material property changes to establish reliable, justifiable, and robust convergence of the model during simulations.
  * Snehal wrote to Paul Saluan about the developments in the pivot shift manuscript work. He asked to be kept in the loop as the project evolves.
  * Snehal has been in the process of testing foam samples under compression at 20%/s and 100%/s strain rates. Mismatches in desired and applied rates has been noted. The group decided on characterizing the capacity of the Mach-1 machine for applying a move command for different amplitudes of displacement (0.1 mm and 1.0 mm) and at different velocities (1,2,4,8,16 mm/s). Ahmet advised to extract instantaneous velocity (at mid time point) and average velocity to compare against desired velocity. Snehal will follow up.
  * Callan got an account at !SimTk. Ahmet added Callan as a team member.

Recurring Meeting of Cleveland Clinic Core Team

Date: March 31, 2015

Time: 10:30 AM EST

Means: In person meeting

Attendees:

  1. Ahmet Erdemir
  2. Craig Bennetts
  3. Snehal Chokhandre
  4. Tara Bonner

Agenda:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
  2. Discuss pivot shift simulation study development.
  3. Discuss potential simulation studies and development of related specifications.
  4. Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
  5. Other.

Immediate Action Items:

  • Ahmet
    • Send Tara anatomical landmark coordinates obtained from the model and possibly meet her to discuss.
    • Meet with Craig and Snehal for training to use high performance computing and to troubleshoot model convergence.
    • Identify parameters (model related or simulation related) in the Open Knee(s) - Generation 1 model that can be changed to improve convergence.
    • Identify additions to the model that can be implemented to improve convergence and realism.
  • Snehal
    • Evaluate high-speed ramping capabilities of Mach-1.
    • Continue working on discussion and references for pivot shift simulation manuscript.
  • Craig
    • Start drafting an outline for the anatomical imaging manuscript.
  • Tara
    • Provide desired detailed and simplified (ramp) pivot shift profile for simulations.
    • Start drafting an outline for the tibiofemoral joint testing manuscript.
  • Robb
    • Start drafting an outline for the patellofemoral joint testing manuscript.
