Date: July 12, 2016
Time: 10:30 AM EST
Means: In person meeting
Attendees:
- Ahmet Erdemir
- Robb Colbrunn
- Snehal Chokhandre
- Tara Bonner
- Connor Lough
- William van den Bogert
- Jason Halloran (Cleveland State University)
- Will Zaylor (Cleveland State University)
- Christina Pope (Cleveland State University)
Agenda:
- Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
- Discuss progress of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
- Discuss progress of joint testing and imaging data manuscripts.
- Discuss segmentation plan and progress.
- Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
- Other.
Immediate Action Items:
- Ahmet
- Complete reviewing the drafts of data manuscripts.
- Snehal
- Continue documentation of tissue testing reproducibility.
- Evaluate 150 gr load cell to ensure noise does not saturate measurements(test meniscus compression sample).
- Robb and William
- Continue working on scripts to generate of aggregated contact pressure plots for patellofemoral joint manuscript and accommodate suggested changes.
- Connor
- Continue updating specifications for comparison of geometries.
- All
- Start segmentation based on commitments listed in the Roadmap.
Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
- Most action items were related to the agenda items; refer to discussions below.
- Discuss progress of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
- Snehal performed repeatability tests over 4 days. Separate cartilage samples were tested in confined and unconfined compression. Each day the entire process was repeated. Snehal will get the results together.
- Snehal will do the repeatability for ligament and meniscus tension testing this week. She had the prototype lab sharpen the tensile punches.
- Tara will train with Snehal on tissue testing the week of July 25, 2016.
- Discuss progress of joint testing and imaging data manuscripts.
- Ahmet read through the drafts but needs to review them more thoroughly. His assessments were:
- The anatomical imaging manuscript misses sections on technical validation and usage notes. The specimen table is complete.
- The tibiofemoral joint testing manuscript is missing figures (as all manuscripts do). The figures should be generated such that they would be consistent in style among papers. The figures should show all specimen data instead of mean and standard devitation. The definition of laxity needs to be emphasized.
- The patellofemoral joint testing manuscript should include sensor recalibration in the technical validation.
- Ahmet mentioned that static copies of data will be added in Dryad with manuscript submissions.
- For the patellofemoral joint manuscript, William wrote scripts for pressure analysis and ran for all specimens. The pngs and svgs are in the repository. The svg has unexplained interpolation of data. The png doesn’t have the interpolation. It may be worth running all specimens with same legend so they can be compared. The flexion angles on the figure might be backwards/reversed. Robb and William will need to check the results and confirm.
- Ahmet read through the drafts but needs to review them more thoroughly. His assessments were:
- Discuss segmentation plan and progress.
- Connor created wiki page outlining process for comparing geometries.
- In the upcoming week all team members will work on segmentation.
- Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
- See Immediate Action Items above.
- Other.
- Ahmet plans to change licensing to be even more liberal, e.g. to Creative Commons Attribture, to allow the use and distribution of derivative works by removing copyleft. Current licensing scheme already allows academic and commercial use. There were no objections.
