Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
- Most action items were related to the ongoing agenda items; refer to discussions below.
- Discuss progress of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
- Snehal summarized the status of tissue testing protocol evaluation to Robb and Tara. Cartilage confined and unconfined compression and tensile testing are in good shape. Meniscus tension testing is repeatable. Meniscus unconfined and confined compression tests and ligament and tendon tension tests were problematic. Snehal will repeat these unconfined meniscus test by changing pre-conditioning strain ranges to 5% - 15% as proposed in last week's meeting. For confined testing, she will allow recovery in between tests. For tendon and ligament testing, Snehal showed results of last week's meeting to Robb and Tara. She conducted new tests last week with the tendon. She did a failure test following a three-step stress relaxation test. She confirmed that 6% strain for maximum loading was well below failure point. She also used sand paper on one side of the clamp and glue on the other side; the tests were not repeatable. She also used sand paper on both sides but failed to conduct the test to the testing machine freeze. Snehal contacted Martin Garon from Biomomentum, Inc. for resolution. Camera driver's may be an issue; Snehal will update the driver. For tendon testing, Ahmet asked Snehal to look at clamp-to-clamp strain and actual tendon strain (from images) to see if there are any mismatches between trials.
- Discuss segmentation progress.
- Robb completed raw stl generation for patella bone 5 knees. He also started segmenting the remaining. He will update the segmentation dashboard accordingly.
- Tara completed medial meniscus segmentation for three knees. She will refine segmentation of others. She will update the segmentation dashboard accordingly.
- Tara will have the students work on segmentation, possibly on femur and tibia.
- Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
- See Ongoing Action Items above.
- Other.
- None noted.
