Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from the last meeting.
- Most action items were related to the ongoing agenda items; refer to discussions below.
- Discuss progress of tissue testing protocol evaluation.
- Snehal continued testing. She was having problems with the Mach-1 system freezing when using the camera. She contacted Martin Garon from Biomomentum, Inc. and per discussions installed new camera drivers. Unfortunately, the issue has not been resolved yet. Tensile testing for ligaments and tendons is on hold until resolution of this issue. While Snehal can do tests without the camera, she prefers not to. She is planning to test gripping methods for these tests.
- Snehal returned back to meniscus testing, specifically for unconfined compression. She used pre-conditioning cycling range of 5%-15% strain. She let the specimen rest for 5 hours in between two tests in day one; kept the specimen in saline solution until next day and conducted two tests again (5 hours in between). Day 1 tests were not repeatable; day 2 tests were repeatable. She was suspecting swelling based on literature. She evaluated Day 2 tests in relation to Day 1 - Test 2 assuming that the swelling in all those cases would be similar. There has not been a resolution in this problem yet. Snehal has been conducting more tests at the time of meeting.
- Discuss segmentation progress.
- Robb has been getting comfortable with the smoothing for generating geometries. Robb and Tara still need to update the dashboard for segmentation.
- Decide immediate action items for the next meeting.
- See Ongoing Action Items above.
- Other.
- Petri Tanska from University of Eastern Finland has been visiting the laboratory. He joined the meeting. Snehal summarized our process during meetings.
