What is 3D walking example osim model origined?

OpenSim Moco is a software toolkit to solve optimal control problems with musculoskeletal models defined in OpenSim using the direct collocation method.

What is 3D walking example osim model origined?

Post by Jeonghwan Jay Lee » Fri Oct 01, 2021 8:46 pm

Hello all,

I mostly have used CMC with gait2392 model. Nowadays, I am considering utilizing MOCO with our dataset, but I realize the 3D walking example in MOCO package uses a different osim model (armless 80 muscle model). Also, it seems there are slight differences in MTU geometry. I am wondering what are differences in this armless 80 muscle model compared to the gait2392 model, except for the number of muscles.

Does anyone know the reference paper of this model? Anyone can explain the differences with respect to the gait2392 model?
If this model would be more proper for MOCO, I am willing to switch my model from gait2392 to this example model. But I would like to make sure the main differences.

I would be appreciated if anyone helps me out. Thank you.

Best regards,
Jay

Hi Jeonghwan,

The model that comes with the Moco examples is a modified version of the Rajagopal et al. (2016) model. Refer to that paper for more information: https://simtk.org/projects/full_body.
