Hi David,
I use Windows10.

I just ran the Cylinder Example problem on Windows, with and without MPI, finished OK. Download that from https://simtk.org/projects/sv_tests and try to run it.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi David,

I ran "steady_rcr", and here are my results. Should the pressure be constant at all places? I have attached pressure and velocity models for one of the timesteps.

Hi Radhika,

These results look fine so it seems that running the solver is not the problem.

I am guessing that the problem you were having with the aorta normal simulation was that the mesh was just too large to run, we typically run these large meshes on an HPC cluster. Maybe you were running out of memory or disk space.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi David,

So what do you recommend? Because I tried to run the simulation again using the mesh size of 0.2 like you said, but it's still stuck at 0%, even though I'm using 8 processes. I would really like to avoid using processes but for the purpose of getting any results, I'm using them for now.

My histor file has "NaN" in some places, so what can I do to get numbers in these columns like for the cylinder problem?

Also, I was looking at previous posts and saw that there was an error in the segmentations for the Aorta_smoothed_outlet. Could this be the thing causing the problem? If so, how would I go about resolving this issue?

Again, thank you so much for everything you're doing!

Hi David,

Scratch what I said before - I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong! I ran the simulation and it gave me pressure values for all time steps. Here is what the project looks like in Paraview. Can you confirm if it should look like this? I do have one more question: How do I view the time-averaged wall shear stress (TAWSS) and oscillatory shear index (OSI)?

Hi Radhika,

The simulation looks good!

To write out OSI and TAWSS you need to use a non-zero start step when converting results. Also make sure that the start and increment values creates a time series that includes the stop value. You will see a file named average_result.vtp that contains OSI and TAWSS values.

Cheers,
Dave
