Static Optimization (3.2 vs 3.3)

I remember reading somewhere that the static optimization methodology in OpenSim 3.2 and 3.3 were different. Did I make this up in my head? If not, can I please get some feedback on where I can read about those differences? I feel like there was a difference in something that had to do with how penalties in the simulation were treated?

My main question is, should I be able to run Static Op and Joint Reaction Analysis in either version and get the same results?

Thanks for the help! I've been searching journal papers and can't seem to find where I read that.

Sorry that it's tough to find this info out, so any feedback on how it could be easier to find would be great. Generally, you won't find upgrade notes in the literature, but rather through simtk.org and other documentation sites.

Some direct links to find 3.3 changes:
New features in 3.3: https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... penSim+3.3
Upgrade Notes for 3.3: https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8 ... penSim+3.3

I found these by doing the following:
- Navigate to the OpenSim Downloads page (https://simtk.org/frs/?group_id=91)
- Under the first "OpenSim" group, expande "Previous Releases"
- Under OpenSim 3.3, expand "Documentation Links"
- The first two links are the links provided above.

Reading through the notes, it seems like there could be different results if you have passive elements in the model.
