installation of Opensim on Mac computer

Hi there ,
I am trying to install the opensim4.3 on a Mac computer and getting the following error message.
Opensim quit unexpectedly

Could you please advise how I can resolve this? I tried uninstalling and installing again but still getting the same error.

Hello,

Since we have tens of users successfully installing on Mac, can you provide more details so we know what's different in your case(s). For example, what osx version, processor, if installing as administrator (all users) and whether a previous version of OpenSim was successfully installed on the same machine.

this is the first time I am trying to use Opensim.
It is macOs High Sierra,
Version 10.13.6

Hi Nahzat,

According to Apple, Osx 10.13 is past the end of life date (https://endoflife.date/macos), I'd be curious if others on the forum have been successful using OpenSim 4.3 on it, if not I'd suggest going back to OpenSim 4.2 (available on the download page under previous releases which was released a few months ago) to see if it works or upgrade your osx version to a supported one.

Hi Aymen,
I tried the Opensim 4.2 as well.
I am getting the same error message .

I have an assignment to submit for today, is there any thing else that I might be able to try to resolve the issue ?

Hello,

Try using 4.1 or 4.0 since the changes are not likely to affect your assignment. In essence the OpenSim distribution relies on libraries/frameworks that should live on your computer and when they don't it fails to start.
