Recurring Meeting of Cleveland Clinic - Stanford University

Date: April 7, 2016

Time: 2:00 PM EST

Means: Conference Call

Attendees:

  1. Ahmet Erdemir (Cleveland Clinic)
  2. Joy Ku (Stanford University)
  3. Mike Wong (Consultant)

Agenda:

This was a free form meeting to discuss the initial prototype of a data management system.

Immediate Action Items:

Notes:

  1. Upload piece and file navigation features for the initial prototype has been developed. Currently the prototype is installed on a server behind Stanford University firewall.
  2. Through desktop sharing Joy illustrated the functioning of the interface. It is possible to drag and drop local folders to the remote server. The interface provides a file browser to easily navigate subfolders.
  3. Joy and Mike described the backend of the system. When uploading the interface asks for a readme file (or a URL) to populate metadata. This metadata will be informing queries. A search interface will be provided. Ahmet asked if metadata can be accessed while browsing, e.g. by right-clicking on folders and files. Mike noted that the interface can be customized to provide such access.
  4. The immediate goal is to get the interface for upload and organization of raw data, e.g. within the next month. Then the team will discuss the needs for uploading and organization of derivative data.
  5. The participants discussed various additional features, e.g., integrating a revision control to facilitate branching and referencing. Ahmet noted that even at this stage, the prototype can serve as a staging area for his data dissemination needs. Joy will work on resolving firewall issues and get Ahmet access to the prototype. Ahmet will experiment and send feedback.
  6. For the upcoming progress review meeting, Ahmet will need screenshots for his presentation. If he cannot have access to the server on time, Joy will send a few. If server accessible, Ahmet may demonstrate its use during discussions of the progress review meeting.
  7. Ahmet informed Joy and Mike about the status of in vivo testing. He anticipates that the testing will start within a month or two and the interface may be used with the data from the project soon.
