Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
- All action items were related to the recurring agenda items; refer to discussions below.
- In vivo testing progress.
- The IFPS-1 box for the Nano 25 load transducer has been sent to ATI Inc. for recalibration due to a saturated channel. Ahmet mentioned implementing protocol for verifying equipment functionality. He asked Tara and Robb if there was a quick check to run prior to running experiments. The group discussed potential quality checks to perform before each experiment.
- An error in calculation of the transformation matrix between the load transducer and ultrasound probe was recently discovered and corrected by Tara.
- Tara updated the coordinate system documentation on the wiki page.
- Tammy will suspend in vivo experimentation until the team receives back the transducer and evaluates its functionality.
- Readiness for in vitro testing.
- Two MRI sessions were requested for late November. These are the earliest available time at the facilities in University Hospitals.
- The instrumented scalpel design was completed. A test handle is currently being manufactures using 3D printing. The remaining parts are currently being machined.
- The Optotrak equipment has arrived and can be partially installed in the in vitro testing room.
- Data analysis update.
- Rici updated the thickness measurement script to read the time synchronization XML files. She also implemented recalling of the boundary locations from the prior images during manual analysis. The group suggested appending the low force region of indentation with the data from the anatomical image because during indentation a zero force may not always be guaranteed initially. This may be a post-processing step.
- Rici has also began investigating an automated method to extract tissue thickness.
Modeling & simulation specifications.
- Ben developed the pipeline for modeling protocol. He has been updating specifications and naming conventions on the wiki.
- Other.
- Ahmet mentioned that there will be a conference call with the team at Stanford University next week.
