Immediate Action Items:
- Tammy
- Continue recruiting and testing for in vivo experimentation.
- Tyler
- Iterate on specifications of in vitro testing procedures in preparation for mock study.
- Inquire about MRI and CT scheduling for mock study.
- Assist Robb in allocating freezer space for cadaver specimens.
- Robb
- Continue field testing of LINUS - Optotrak integration software.
- Allocate space in freezer for cadaver specimens.
- Ben
- Continue developing modeling specifications.
- Rici
- Contact Stanford University team in regard to location of sample data for testing data management system.
- Continue analysis of in vivo experimentation data.
- Continue exploration of alternative scripts to define element-specific properties for modeling.
- Ahmet
- Return back to troubleshooting of haptic interface (HAPI) compilation with SOFA.
- Review data management specification updates in regard to in vitro testing.
- All
- Review and update specifications that are under development.
Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
- All action items were related to the recurring agenda items; refer to discussions below.
- In vivo testing progress.
- Tammy continued experimentation as planned.
- Readiness for in vitro testing.
- The cadaver fixture for imaging is currently in production; expected completion will be within two weeks.
- The malfunctioning Optotrak sensor was replaced. Field testing of Optotrak-LINUS integration can continue.
- Ahmet received a new quote for the Mach-1 testing system. Ahmet, Robb, Tyler, and Snehal will review this and request a new quote without a few optional components to accommodate price increase.
- Tyler has been following up with the purchase of three-dimensional strain measurement system.
- Data analysis update.
- Analysis of in vivo experimentation data continued as usual.
- The group discussed a method to handle trials in which the bone boundary could not be found. Rici will set the boundary beyond a threshold which will convert that boundary to a "not a number label". In such cases, the skin and fat thickness will still be measured whereas muscle and total thickness values will be missing data.
Modeling & simulation specifications.
- Ben has updated his mesh assembly and model generation script to also create a working model in Abaqus format. He will move on to other problems, e.g. gravity compensation using FEBio's in situ strain feature.
- Rici documented the scripts, which use MEDCoupling for assignment of element-by-element material properties from an image-based voxel mesh. She updated the wiki with sample problems to illustrate expected results. She will continue exploring alternative strategies without using MEDCoupling.
- Decide immediate action items for next meeting.
- See Immediate Action Items above.
- Other.
- Ahmet wrote an abstract for the 2017 BMES/FDA meeting and asked the team members to review. He also reminded the group about the ASB 2017 deadline, which is March 3, 2017. He mentioned his anticipation for multiple abstracts for that conference.
