Immediate Action Items:

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
    • All action items were related to the recurring agenda items; refer to discussions below.
  2. In vivo testing progress.
    • Experimentation continued as anticipated.
  3. Readiness for in vitro testing.
    • The group discussed data collection errors during last weeks mock in vitro experiment.
      • The Optotrak data was partially collected because of an indexing error.
      • The force/torque data was only negated and is still usable. Robb and Tara will verify the transformation matrices, the coordinate systems, particularly that of the ultrasound probe, and the description of forces, e.g. applied or reaction, to the probe or to the body.
    • It was suggested that the best approach to collect data on arms and legs separately is to 'resume testing' and select relevant limb.
    • Distal to proximal probe orientation was discussed. It may not have to be consistent because orientation information is collected during in vitro unlike in vivo.
    • The specimen used in last week will be retested (indentation only) to verify Optotrak data and practice the experiment.
    • Tyler updated the registration marker images in the Linus software.
  4. Data analysis update.
    • Data analysis for in vivo experimentation continued as usual.
    • To prepare for data analysis of in vitro experimentation, Ahmet asked for the documentation of essential information in the state and sensor files related to Optotrak measurements. This will be similar to the Open Knee(s) documentation.
  5. Modeling & simulation specifications.

    • Ben continued developing morphing scripts but does not have enough data to continue. He plans to continue using made-up data for development purposes until the next mock trial.
    • Ahmet got Novint Falcon in SofaHAPI with force feedback when controlling a virtual tool. He will try to port the compilation of relevant libraries and Sofa to Linux computers used by the team.
  6. Decide immediate action items for next meeting.
    • See Immediate Action Items above.
  7. Other.
    • The beta version of data management website was recently completed and the team started to review its functionality and features. Ahmet provided an overview of the site. Some desirable features and tests were noted:
      • A progress bar showing the state of compression would let the user know that the system is compressing the package and preparing for download.
      • Testing is needed to see if download packages include both accepted and rejected trials.
