Immediate Action Items:

Notes:

  1. Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
    • All action items were related to the recurring agenda items; refer to discussions below.
  2. In vivo testing progress.
    • Experimentation continued as anticipated. Currently 70 subjects have been tested.
    • Tammy has been focusing on recruitment to match the target population demographics.
  3. Readiness for in vitro testing.
    • Robb and Tara added functionality to test Optotrak data validity.
    • The group also discussed the temporal alignment of Optotrak data and force data and how time stamp for each of these data sets were saved in the tdms files. The force data is assumed to have a constant dt, which is stored in the tdms files. The Optotrak time data is stored as an array as it is not constant. The tdms file also has a constant dt stored for Optotrak but this should not be used. The time delay between Optotrak data and force data is assumed to be 0 and not stored in the tdms file. Robb will conduct some tests to confirm this.
    • Tyler plans to conduct two more dry-mock tests.
    • Tyler noted that the three-dimensional strain measurement system was received. He will work with the company to setup training.
    • Tara updated inconsistencies in naming conventions in the specimen metadata file (XML) for in vitro testing.
    • Robb and Tyler plan to meet this week to discuss software development for data acquisition using instrumented surgical tools.
  4. Data analysis update.
    • Rici continued analysis as planned.
    • Rici has been developing visualization methods to view MRI, CT, and Ultrasound with the same field of view of the ultrasound imaging for comparative analysis.
    • Rici has continued testing the data management system. Upload of in vivo testing data will continue when server storage capacity is increased.
  5. Modeling & simulation specifications.

    • Ben has pushed morphing techniques developed for the leg to the arm. He noted several inconsistencies in imaging coordinate systems of the leg and the arm, e.g. flipping of image z-axis.
    • Ben described certain aspects of the morphing script including utilization of tissue thickness measurements and ultrasound probe pose and orientation from Optotrak to create planes at each measurement location.
    • As a simplified test case, Ahmet suggested morphing without using proximal and distal data as scaling factor inputs. Use central only to scale entire segment and compare all regions after.
  6. Decide immediate action items for next meeting.
    • See Immediate Action Items above.
  7. Other.
    • None noted.
