- Start developing Python scripts to analyze surgical tool experimentation data.
- Continue developing tissue testing specifications.
- Prepare updated draft of manuscript on instrumented ultrasound.
- Tara
- Check collection and storage of time for Optotrak during surgical tool experiments.
- Check the feature for addition of new subject in the surgical tool data collection software.
- Add feature for acquisition of pre- and post-cut dimensions for each surgical tool trial.
- Rici
- Follow up with Stanford University team about dissemination of in vitro data.
- Check orientation of ultrasound probe used in sample indentation data for modeling.
- Ben
- Continue developing modeling specifications.
Continue developing manuscript on scripted model generation & assembly.
- Populate wiki page on modeling and simulation with in vitro indentation data.
- Tammy
- Continue segmentation for modeling and simulation.
- Ahmet
- Compile haptics libraries and SofaHAPI.
- Review Rici's draft of in vivo data manuscript.
Notes:
- Discuss immediate action items from past meetings.
- All action items were related to the recurring agenda items; refer to discussions below.
- Manuscripts update.
- Ahmet returned Tyler's manuscript on instrumented ultrasound. Tyler will prepare an updated draft in response to his recommendations.
- Rici's first draft on in vivo testing data is ready for Ahmet to review.
- Ben will continue working on his manuscript to prepare the first draft.
- In vitro testing progress.
- The first mock surgical tool test was completed by Tyler and Andrew.
- Overall, the data collection was a success, lasted for about 2-3 hours.
- A fixture was developed to be used as a guide for retraction distance and platform to aid in caliper depth measurements.
- Ahmet recommended recording strain measurement on a small number of trials. This will focus on addition of two new trials for pulling and pushing of the skin before cutting trials start:
- pulling with forceps
- pushing with retractor
- cutting
- No update on tissue testing specifications.
- The first mock surgical tool test was completed by Tyler and Andrew.
Modeling & simulation progress.
- Ben continued developing the instrumented ultrasound simulation. He had some success to apply in situ strains due to gravity. He has been exploring different loading and boundary conditions to facilitate transitioning to indentation simulations and calculation of unloaded reference state of the model. He can also prescribe experimental probe translations at a fixed orientation. He will explore prescription of orientation time history. Rici will look at the data to see how much probe orientation changes during indentation.
- Tammy made progress segmenting the upper leg. She also started segmenting the lower leg. Afterwards she will start segmenting the arm from the same donor.
- Ben set up access to the high performance cluster at the Cleveland Clinic.
- Decide immediate action items for next meeting.
- See Immediate Action Items above.
- Other.
- Rici will follow up in vitro data dissemination with Stanford University team.
