Modeling priorities
- PRIORITY 1
- 8 specimen-specific model (lumped) - indentation simulation (gravity compensation, anterior for calibration / posterior for benchmarking)
Phases for each specimen-specific modeling & simulation
- TEMPLATE MODELING: assembled model at 3 different mesh densities (coarse, medium, fine)
- MESH CONVERGENCE: simulation with assumed material property and anterior region indentation displacement to identify minimum required mesh density for prediction of indentation force
- CALIBRATION: inverse analysis utilizing iterative simulations with converged mesh to find material property that best represents experimental forces of anterior region indentation. Each simulation will require gravity compensation.
- BENCHMARKING: simulation with calibrated material properties and posterior region indentation displacement to compare model predicted and experimental posterior region indentation forces. Simulation will require gravity compensation.
