- Ahmet
- Meet with Ben on a weekly basis regarding the model assembly paper.
- Submit progress report.
- Compile haptics libraries and SofaHAPI.
- Tammy
- Assist in organization/clean-up of wiki.
Notes:
- Manuscripts update.
- Rici will revisit the indentation edits that Ahmet suggested. She will finish up edits and send out to co-authors for review by the end of next week. We hope to submit by the end of the year.
- The instrumented ultrasound paper has been published.
- Tyler will continue working on the data papers (in vitro and surgical tools).
- Ben has been making progress on the model assembly paper and hopes to have a working draft by the end of the year.
- Tammy has updated the manuscript section of the wiki.
- Data dissemination update.
- All three data management sites are operational. Rici has been populating the in vitro data as experimentation is complete. She will also work to populate the surgical tools data.
- Data dissemination is more at a maintenance phase now.
- In vitro testing status.
- We are waiting for arm and leg specimens from a final donor.
- Tyler discussed the Optotrak sensor data jumping in the instrumented ultrasound in vitro data. Ahmet suggested looking at both the position and orientation of the bone and tool sensor to see if they are within Optotrack resolution. The position and orientation data may need to be filtered before analysis.
Modeling & simulation status.
- For model calibration, Ben's script is working. FEBio also has an optimization module that seems more robust but also takes more time. Progress on calibration has been put on hold until the element type is decided upon.
- Sean has been looking into different element types within both FEBio and Abaqus and has found differing results. Seems like quadratic tetrahedrals will be required for our models. The linear tetrahedrals behave much different than the quadratic tetrahedrals.
- Ahmet asked about how easy it is to convert between linear and quadratic tetrahedrals. This is currently done using a script through Gmsh instead of Salome. Ben described that there is one manual step when creating the mesh but the workflow is still streamlined.
- Both Ben and Sean suggest using Gmsh for all meshing (linear and quadratic), instead of Salome as it provides a more uniform mesh. Salome will still be used for extrusion of the skin.
- Ahmet asked about adding an option to Ben's scripts to create quadratic meshes in Salome. Ben can implement this, however it will take some work.
- Sean noticed a couple of weeks ago that incorrect groups were being made after extruding the skin. Ben thought this was due to incorrect normal directions, however there are still issues with the groups. Ben will continue to investigate this issue.
- Ahmet's suggested to find a way to push quadratic wedge elements to FEBio and to try building quadratic mesh with on Salome.
- Review of action items from past meeting.
- All action items were related to the agenda items; refer to discussions above.
- Decide action items for next meeting.
- See Ongoing Action Items above.
- Other.
- Tammy will work with Ahmet to help clean up the wiki page for Multis.
- Ahmet will send a progress report due December 15th.
